PORTLAND — A toddler who disappeared from her father’s home in December in Waterville, is turning 2 years old.

The family of Ayla Reynolds will mark the occasion with balloons and birthday cake during a vigil this evening in Portland’s Monument Square. The event is being sponsored by the family of mother Trista Reynolds and nonprofit LostNMissing Inc.

Police have been searching for Ayla but so far, there’s been no sign of her and no arrests.

Jeff Hanson, Ayla’s step-grandfather, says that in addition to refreshments there’ll be music including Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” a song to which Ayla liked to dance.
