WATERVILLE — Seventeen Colby College students were summoned late Tuesday on alcohol-related charges after police responded to a report of an off-campus party at 3 Carroll St.

Deputy police Chief Charles Rumsey said Wednesday that a resident on that street called police around 11 p.m. to report loud noise and people shouting outside a house.

Officers spoke with the two Colby students who rent the house, Constance Jangro, 21, of Reading, Mass., and Lauren Zion, 21, of Beverly, Mass., who later were summoned and charged with furnishing a place for minors to drink alcohol, according to Rumsey.

“They were very cooperative,” Rumsey said. “They helped get the people out of the house and shut the party down.”

Police summoned 17 minors who were at the house on charges of possession of liquor by a minor. The are Jauqueline Tavella, 19, East Long Meadow, Mass.; Katharine Eddy, 20, Cheshire, Conn.; Lindsay McCabe, 18, Weston, Mass.; Kathryn Griffin, 20, Duxbury, Mass.; Claire Dixon, 18, Darien, Conn.; Paige Pearson, 20, Ridgewood, N.J.; Meaghan Mooney, 20, Waterville; Ian Boldt, 20, Waterville; James MacDougall, 20, Ardsley, N.Y.; Hilary Barr, 20, Ridgewood, N.J.; Anna Mintz, 19, Mountain Lakes, N.J.; Courtney Moran, 20, Newton, Mass.; Lisa Hoops, 20, Ipswich, Mass.; Kirsten Karis, 20, Southborough, Mass.; Caroline Keaveney, 18, Greenwich, Conn.; Sara Miller, 18, Andover, Mass.; Theresa Petesch, 20, Rockville, Md.

All are scheduled to appear in Waterville District Court at 1 p.m. Aug. 7, Rumsey said.

In September, police arrested three Colby students who rented an apartment on Winter Street and charged them with providing a place for minors to drink. More than two dozen students at the party were summoned for possession of alcohol by a minor.

In October, 19 Colby students were summoned on alcohol-related charges after an off-campus party on Collette Street.
