VILLANOVA, Pa. — Hannah Caswell of Manchester, Maine, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at Villanova University. Caswell is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Wheelock named
to dean’s list
ORONO — Alexander Wheelock of Gardiner was named to dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Maine.
A Civil and Environmental Engineering major, he was the recipient of the George Wadlin II Memorial Scholarship for structural engineering.
He recently participated in the 42nd Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society Conclave held in Los Angeles, California.
He has a summer internship with WBRC Architects Engineers in Bangor. He is the son of Dennis and Kristina Wheelock of Gardiner.
McCullum named to dean’s list
LEXINGTON, Va. — James McCullum of Hallowell, Maine, a member of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University, has been named to the dean’s list for the winter term.

KEENE, N.H. — Two local students participated in Keene State College’s 12th Annual Academic Excellence Conference.
Jared Peters of Hallowell, Maine, gave a presentation, “Understanding the Evolution and Biology of Passiflora Subgenus Decaloba using DNA Sequences of the cytGS Gene.”
Amber Poirier of Hallowell, Maine, gave a presentation, “Identification of Genetic Pathways Required for Planarian Regeneration.”

BOSTON — Three local residents were named to the 2011 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons College.
They are Ashley Kelly, and undeclared major, and Jessica Lucas, a biochemistry major, both of Augusta; and Emlyn Perry of Chelsea, an undeclared major.
Kimball receives
nurse’s pin
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Angela Kimball, of South Gardiner, Maine, a senior nursing major at Saint Anselm College, received a Saint Anselm College nurse’s pin at the 2012 pinning ceremony held recently in the Abbey Church.
Kimball, class of 2012, will receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

LEXINGTON, Va. — James McCullum of Hallowell, Maine, a member of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University, has been named to the honor roll for the winter 2012 term.
Belanger receives
college award
STANDISH — Albenie Belanger of Augusta, Maine, received the Residence Life Award at Saint Joseph’s College.
The award is given to students who have improved the quality of life in the residence halls. Belanger is a sophomore sociology major.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Michelle Severance of East Monmouth, Maine, has graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro with bachelor’s degrees in environmental studies and anthroplogy/sociology.
Michelle is a 2008 graduate of Hall-Dale High School and is the daughter of Donna Kistenmacher and George Severance Jr.

POTSDAM, N.Y. — Edmund K. Burnett of Winthrop, Maine, recently received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson University.
