The Republican candidate, Charles Summers, denies that mankind is the principle cause of climate change. However, 97 percent of the true experts (climate scientists around the world) recognize that we are causing climate change, and they are pleading for us to do much more to reduce it.

Should we believe people who have spent their whole careers studying climate, or politicians who think that somehow they know more than the experts, without having to know the facts?

If we elect a Senate majority that denies climate change, our government will delay taking steps to reduce global warming.

Our children’s lives will be harmed by this through higher food prices, damage to our economy and dislocated Americans from hot and drought-stricken states crowding into Maine.

This is the one issue that would make me vote for or against a Senate candidate.
