The citizens of Benton have the luxury this Election Day of having one candidate for selectman that clearly stands out above the others.

Dan Chamberlain, besides being actively engaged with the community while coaching soccer to area youth over six years, represented the town on the school board for 13 years. During that time, he showed his ability to lead the board by serving as its chair for six years.

In that capacity, Chamberlain advocated hard for Benton’s students, while being judicious with the use of taxpayers money.

Benton is lucky to have the hard-working and competent staff that they currently have in place. It would be wise of the town to continue to elect people that refuse to drag the town into the petty politicking and grandstanding that has plagued so many of the other area towns. Chamberlain will keep Benton on the right track.
