Ann Dorney, D-Norridgewock, defeated Edward Goff, R-Norridgewock, in the House District 86 race Tuesday by a 2,234 to 1,945 vote.
Dorney took each town in the district, winning in Madison 1,052 to 995, in Norridgewock 876-717 and in Solon 306-233.
Dorney, 59, is a physician and the former owner of Skowhegan Family Medicine and is running on a platform of health care reform and creating jobs by investing in agriculture and alternative energy.
