MANCHESTER — Several workshops will be offered for volunteers to make items for a fundraising auction which will take place during the 11th annual charity auction and tree lighting on Dec. 2 at Manchester Elementary School.

Workshops will take place on the following dates:

* Nov. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m., to make holiday arrangements.

* Nov. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., for decorated boxwood trees.

* And Nov. 29, from 1 to 4 p.m., for holiday wreaths and hanging evergreen baskets.

Workshops will be held at the Manchester Lions Club. All supplies and materials will be provided and professional florists will give instruction. Volunteers are welcome to bring holiday accent items such as candles, small ornaments and holiday ribbons to add to the designs. Donations of money or items for use in preparing the decorations are welcome.

Auction proceeds benefit the town’s fuel assistance program. The tree lighting event includes caroling and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
