WILTON — The town of Wilton Events Committee has planned Wilton’s Winter Wonderland from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, downtown. The event will begin with a Cocoa Social at Key Bank on Main Street. Santa will arrive by 5:30 p.m. to light the downtown tree with caroling and music. Damon Photography will offer portraits with Santa and his elves at 6 p.m. The Wilton Library will be open for children’s crafts and face painting.

The committee will host a kids winter clothing collection. A large gathering box can be found at the Damon Photography Studio on Main Street Nov. 19 through Dec. 1. New and gently used winter clothes and boots will be distributed to needy kids at the Wilton Schools.

Wilton’s Winter Wonderland also includes memorial wreaths hung about the village and charity Christmas trees that are displayed in town and then donated to families selected by the thoughtful people at Care and Comfort. Memorial wreaths can be purchased through the Wilton Boys Scouts by calling Ray Jacques at Wilton Hardware at 645-2266.

Charity trees can be purchased by calling John or Corey Black at Rocky Hill Landscaping at 645-5381. The trees cost $28 and include a new tree stand. A tree will be delivered for display across from Wilton Hardware Monday, Nov. 26, and will require lights to be strung by Thursday, Nov. 29. Decorations for the tree should be bagged and brought to Wilton Hardware and will be delivered with the tree to the charity families a week before Christmas.
