WATERVILLE — GHM Insurance Agency is accepting donations of toys and clothing for the children helped by the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers.

The agency’s location at 51 Main St. may be a more convenient drop-off site for some people than is the charity, according to Donna Boutin, a vice president at the insurance agency.

People can drop off presents at any time between now and the company’s Dec. 13 open house, which will run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Christmas program has been struggling to fill the Christmas boxes it assembles for 1,600 disadvantaged children throughout the state.

The program’s director, Cristen Sawyer, said areas of great need include clothing, especially in sizes 5 to 16; infant and toddler toys; baby dolls and baby doll furniture; Lego sets; action figures; and arts and crafts kits.

Donations made by Friday will benefit children this Christmas. Donations made after that deadline will go to benefit children during the 2013 Christmas season.
