FARMINGTON — The Farmington Warming Centers will open Thursday, Jan. 3, and will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays January-March 2013.
Warming centers are open at the following locations:
* Henderson Memorial, 110 Academy St., on Tuesdays, Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5 and 12. For more information, call 778-2163.
* St. Joseph’s, 133 Middle St., Tuesdays, Feb. 19, 26, March 5, 12, 19 and 26. For more information, call 778-2778.
* Old South, 227 Main St., All Thursdays January through March. For more information, call 778-0424.
All are invited for coffee and conversation, to work on a puzzle, or play a game. At noon, lunch will be provided by Seniors Plus.
Suggested donation for the meal is $3, but any donation is appreciated. Soups and snacks will also be provided by community friends. A 24-hour advanced notice for a meal is recommended, call 778-2163.
Supervised childcare or adult day care will not be available. Volunteers are welcome. Public transportation is available for a small fee by calling Western Mountain Transportation at 800-393-9335. Please call in advance.
Weather-related cancelations will be called into WKTJ-FM 99.3. If Seniors Plus is canceled, the Warming Center will be canceled.
