OAKLAND — Kelsey Mayo scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Messalonske girls basketball team beat Erskine 52-43 to win the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A opener for both teams Friday.
Nikki Collier added 14 points and five rebounds for Messalonskee, and Kassi Michaud had three points and four steals.
Bridget Humphrey scored a game-high 23 points for Erskine (0-1). Hannah Bridges added seven points.

Camden Hills 61, Waterville 34: Jordon Knowlton scored 18 points to lead the Windjammers to a victory over the Purple Panthers in Waterville.
The Panthers (0-1) were led by Colleen O’Donnell, who scored a team high 15 points, including going 9 for 9 at the free-throw line. Also scoring for Waterville were Jenna Gagnon with 10 points and Alexa Frame with nine points.
Megan LeGage added 13 points for Camden Hills (1-0).

Buckfield 27, Valley 25: Mishell Mazon-Posso scord 10 points to lead the Bucks to an East/West conference win over the Cavaliers in Buckfield.
Gabrielle Therriault added four points for Buckfield (1-0).
Valley (0-1) was led by Teagan Laweryson, who scored a game-high 18 points.

Oceanside 45, Winslow 35: Kennadi Grover scored a game-high 27 points and Hannah Plourde added 12 to lead Oceanside at Winslow.
The teams were tied 9-9 after the first quarter but Oceanside (1-0) out-scored Winslow 11-0 in the second quarter to pull away for good.
Devin Fitzgibbons scored 15 points and Alyssa Wood added seven to lead the Raiders.

Brewer 55, Lawrence 51: Lindsay Houp scored a team-high 19 points and Maddy Bailey added 14 to lead the Witches to the KVAC A win in Fairfield. Alexa Grindle and Emily Gilmore each scored six points for Brewer (1-0).
Dominique Lewis scored 19 points and Nia Irving added 18 to lead the Bulldogs (0-1).

Belfast 43, MCI 25: Lexi Nelligan scored 14 points as the Lions beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Belfast.
Katrina Lapham added 11 points and Mckenzie Thibodeau 10 for Belfast (1-0).
Hannah Emery had seven points for MCI (0-1).
