NEWPORT — Four players scored in double figures as the Nokomis boys basketball team beat Maranacook 73-64 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.
Spencer Hartsgrove led Nokomis (2-1) with 22 points. Andrew Cartright added 20, while Drew Wing and William Cartright each had 11.
Taylor Wilbur scored 28 points, including six 3-pointers, for Maranacook (0-3). Caleb Jackson added 10 points for the Black Bears.
Mt. Ararat 67, Erskine 65: Erskine scored 33 points in the fourth quarter and rallied to tie the game, but Shyheim Ulrickson made two free throws in the final 30 seconds of the game to give Mt. Ararat the victory in South China.
Devin Duncan hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 21 points for Erskine (0-3). Jared Gartley, who finished with eight points, also had a 3-pointer during the rally for Erskine, which went 6 for 9 from the foul line in the fourth. Shawn Soucie had 10 points for Erskine.
Ulrickson had 15 points and Alex Lapierre had 17 for Mt. Ararat (2-1).
Forest Hills 79, North Haven 38: Matt Turner had 26 points and eight steals as the Tigers won in Jackman.
Derick Ouellette added 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Evan Worster had 15 points and 15 rebounds for Forest Hills (5-0).
Avery Waterman had 18 points for North Haven (3-1).
Valley 59, Vinalhaven 50: Josh West had a triple-double as the Cavaliers won in Bingham.
West scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 12 steals for the Cavaliers (2-1). Carrington Miller led all scorers with 23 points for Valley and Seth Malloy chipped in with 12.
Scott James had 17 points and Byron Thomas had 11 for Vinalhaven (0-4).
Winslow 57, MCI 48: Trevor Lovely had 24 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assist as the Black Bears beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Winslow.
Nason Lanpheir added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists for Winslow (2-1).
Cale McCarthy had eight points for MCI (0-3).
Oak Hill 55, Madison 42: Trevor Samson had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Raiders beat the Bulldogs in an MVC game in Wales.
Sam Morin added 18 points for Oak Hill, which improves to 1-2.
Steven Lawrence had 13 points for Madison (0-3).
Winthrop 75, Mt. Abram 43: Sophomore Taylor Morang had 13 points, eights assists and five steals to lead the host Ramblers to the MVC win.
Ben Allen added 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists for Winthrop (2-2). Crispin Bander chipped in with 13 points.
Mt. Abram (0-3) was led by Ian James with nine points and Calum Dixon with eight.
College men’s basketball
Army 96, Maine 67: Justin Edwards scored 18 points in the Black Bears loss to the Golden Knights in West Point, N.Y.
Alasdair Fraser added six points and 11 rebounds, while Xavier Pollard had nine points and five assists for Maine (3-7).
Kyle Wilson had 18 points for Army (5-5).
