AUGUSTA — Josie Lee had 16 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists to lead Cony past Hampden 57-41 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A girls basketball game Wednesday.

Emily Quirion scored a game-high 21 points for Cony (4-3) while Alyssah Dennett added 11 points and five rebounds.

Hampden (0-7) was led by Cassandra Bean with eight points.

Mt. Blue 46, Messalonskee 26: Miranda Nicely scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Cougars to a KVAC A win in Oakland.

Adding to the offensive output for Mt. Blue (4-2) was Gabby Foy, who had nine points.

Messalonskee (4-3) was led offensively by Nikki Collier, who scored seven points.

Brunswick 59, Erskine 45: Mallory Chamberlain scored a game-high 18 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles, who dropped a KVAC A contest in Brunswick.

Bridget Humphrey added 16 points for Erskine (0-7).

Julia Champagne led Brunswick (1-7) with 17 points.

Old Orchard Beach 55, Richmond 48: The host Seagulls outscored the Bobcats 32-17 in the second half to earn the victory in Old Orchard Beach.

Abby Dubois scored 14 points to lead the Seagulls (4-2) while Christina Coleman added 13.

Richmond (4-2) ws led by Ciarra Lancaster and Jamie Plummer with 18 points apiece.

Boys basketball

Hampden 67, Cony 40: Tyler Norris scored 18 points to lead the host Broncos to the KVAC A win.

Brian Fickett and Zach Gilpin each added 10 points for Hampden (7-0).

Sophomores Liam Stokes and Ben Leet scored eight points apiece to lead Cony (3-4).

Brunswick 50, Erskine 48: The Dragons pulled ahead with two and half minutes left and hung on for the KVAC Class A win in South China.

Blake Gordon led the winners with 17 points while Brad Smith added 11.

Erskine’s Devin Duncan led all scorers with 20 points while teammate Caleb McGurie added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
