BRUNSWICK — Dominique Lewis went 8 for 8 from the foul line and Nia Irving scored 11 points as the Bulldogs scored 22 points in the fourth quarter on their way to a 63-52 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win over Brunswick on  Monday.

Irving finished with a game-high 24 points for Lawrence (9-4). Lewis added 17.

Julia Champagne had 14 points, Erica French 13 and Lyse Henshaw 11 for Brunswick (2-11).

Belfast 58, Nokomis 55: Trailing by five at the half, the Lions outscored the Warriors 22-13 in the third quarter and held on for the win in Newport.

Courtney Drinkwater (16 points), Katrina Lapham (14), and Lexi Nelligan (12) all scored in double figures for Belfast (9-3).

Taylor Shaw scored 17 points and Anna MacKenzie had 16 for Nokomis (11-2).

Spruce Mountain 50, Madison 48: Nicole Hamblin hit a short jump shot with four seconds left to break the tie and give the Phoenix the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Jay.

Sam Bruce, who had 22 points and was 10 for 12 from the line, made two free throws with 30 seconds left to tie the score at 48. Bronte Elias had nine points and Cristie Vicneire added eight for the Bulldogs (11-3).

Emily Keene scored 17 points for Spruce Mountain (13-0), while Hamblin had 11 points and five assists.

Lewiston 54, Erskine 42: Emily Brochu scored 13 points and Kristina Blais added 11 to lead the Blue Devils to the KVAC A win in Lewiston.

Alex Wilson chipped in with eight points for Lewiston (4-8).

Bridget Humphrey scored a game-high 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds and eight steals for the Eagles (0-12).

Boys basketball

Lawrence 55, Brunswick 28: Nick Noiles scored 18 points and Spencer Carey added 14 to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Mason Travers scored eight points to lead the Bulldogs (11-2).

Brett Lancaster scored nine points to pace Brunswick (8-5). 

Winslow 71, Maranacook 48: Austin Ireland scored a game-high 20 points and Nason Lanphier added 13 to power the Raiders in Readfield.

Justin Martin chipped in with 12 points for Winslow (11-2), which jumped out to a 17-6 lead and never looked back.

Cameron Brochu scored 12 points and Caleb Jackson added 11 to lead the Black Bears (6-7).

Hampden 62, Skowhegan 29: Tyler Norris scored 12 points and Zach Gilpin added 10 to lead the Broncos to the KVAC A win in Skowhegan.

Nick Gilpin added nine points for Hampden (11-0), which held the Indians (1-10) without an offensive rebound.

Tyler Bacon scored eight points to lead Skowhegan.

Lewiston 66, Erskine 47: The Blue Devils outscored the Eagles by 17 points in the second quarter on their way to a KVAC A win in South China.

Josh Thomas scored 13 points, Donne Agossou 12 and Quintarian Brown 10 for Lewiston (8-5).

Caleb McGuire scored a game-high 22 points for Erskine (1-11).

Spruce Mountain 53, Madison 45: Tyler Kachnovich had 13 points and eight rebounds as the Phoenix beat the Bulldogs in an MVC game in Jay.

Deonte Ring added 13 points and Josh Wilcox had 10 rebounds for Spruce Mountain (9-4).

Dylan Price scored game-high 25 points for Madison (7-7).

Brewer 80, Mt. Blue 49: Five Witches scored in double figured as they downed the Cougars in Brewer.
Brendan Newcomb led the way with 15 points, followed by Ian Burgess with 13, Matt Pushard and Zack Gulesian with 11 apiece, and Logan Rogerson with 10. Brewer is now 8-6.

Drew Parsons scored 12 points for Mt. Blue (1-13).

Boys hockey

Skowhegan 7, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon 2: Kyle Demchak scored two goals and Sam Edmondson stopped 12 shots to lead the Indians to the Eastern A victory in Winslow.

Anthony Paul had a goal and an assist for the Indians (10-1-0), who scored five third period goals to break open a 2-1 game.

Cam DesPres, Chase Nelson, Tyler Savage and Kristian Carrier also scored for Skowhegan.
Jason Kenney had a goal and an assist for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon (4-8-0).

Orono 4, Lawrence 3: Matt Cloutier scored four goals, including the game winner in the third period as the Red Riots beat the Bulldogs in an Eastern B game at Sukee Arena.

Cloutier scored twice in the first period as Orono (6-4-0) took a 2-1 lead. Andrew Carpenter scored one in the the first and two in the second to tie the game for Lawrence (4-8-0).

Tyler Boudreau had two assists for Lawrence, while Josh Doolan and Jordan Nutting each had one. Kyle McLain had 16 saves.

Michael Brown had 34 saves for Orono.

Girls hockey

Winslow 1, Portland 1, OT: Paige Veilleux scored in the second period as the Black Raiders earned a tie with the Bulldogs in Winslow.

Jennifer Poulin had an assist for Winslow (3-9-3), while Jessica Cain had 26 saves.

Drew Barry scored an unassisted goal in the first period and Leanne Reichert had 23 saves for Portland (2-11-2).
