Gardiner man injured in Interstate 95 rollover

AUGUSTA — A Gardiner man walked away with minor injuries Saturday after rolling his car several times on Interstate 95.

Brett Glidden, 25, was driving his 2002 Mercury Sable four-door north on the interstate shortly before 7 p.m. when he apparently fell asleep, said Maine State Police Sgt. Peter Michaud. The Mercury drifted off the right side of the road and rolled several times and hit a sign before stopping its roof, Michaud said.

Glidden was taken by Augusta Rescue to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, where he was treated and released, Michaud said. The Mercury was destroyed.

A Maine Department of Transportation crew responded to the crash, which was investigated by Trooper John Lacoste. No charges are expected, Michaud said.
