BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Maine Red Claws lost their fourth straight late Friday night, falling to the Bakersfield Jam 119-111.

Jerel McNeal scored 28 points, had eight assists and grabbed seven rebounds for Bakersfield, which shot 62% from the field and led by as many as 10 points in the first quarter.

The Red Claws, however, stayed close and trailed by two at the half.

Bakersfield regained momentum in the second half and led by as many as 15 in the third and 14 in the fourth.
 
Maine (19-17) was led by Shelvin Mack, who scored a game-high 36 points to go along with 10 assists and three steals. Micah Downs had 16 points and DaJuan Summers 12.
 
The Red Claws conclude their five-game trip at 10 p.m. Saturday at Sacramento.
