One-car crash injures driver, 18

A woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning for treatment of cuts on her head and arm after a single-vehicle car accident on Winding Hill Road in Norridgewock.

Ashley Jones, 18, of Norridgewock, was traveling east in a white 2004 Mazda when the car hit a patch of ice, skidded into a guardrail and flipped over onto its roof, according to a news release from Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital for a possible head injury as well.
A nursing supervisor did not have an update on her condition Wednesday afternoon. According to Gottardi, the car was totaled and part of the guardrail was also damaged.
