BURNHAM — Voters will decide where to locate the town office, an issue that has split residents on the eastern and western sides of town, during elections Friday.
The town will vote whether to move the town office to the Village School or renovate the current building.
To accommodate the office, the former school building would need more than $100,000 in renovations. The current office needs more than $100,000 in repairs.
In the two contested elections, Anne Goodblood and George Robison are seeking a selectman’s seat, while R. Charlie King and Roger W. Huff are seeking the highway commissioner’s post. Voting is scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Municipal Building.
Voters also will consider a 3.8 percent decrease in the budget during the Town Meeting, which begins at 1 p.m. Saturday. The proposed $510,600 budget is $20,000 less than the current budget.
The current property tax rate is $16.25 per $1,000 of assessed value.
