Allie Clement of McAuley has been named the Gatorade Maine Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-8 junior point guard led the Lions (22-0) to their third straight Class A state title earlier this month. Clement averaged 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.5 assists a game. She shot 56 percent from inside 3-point range. Clement was named the MVP of the Western Maine tournament.

Clement scored 13 points in a 60-45 win over Bangor in the state final.

She was honored Thursday morning at a school assembly.
