WASHINGTON — All articles except one were approved at Town Meeting on Saturday.

The article that failed was one of several changes to the town’s mining ordinance recommended by the Mining Ordinance Review Committee. The panel had proposed to remove the requirement to reapply for a mining permit every seven years, but that time limit will remain in place because of the vote at Town Meeting.

Voters approved an ordinance to exempt active-duty military personnel from vehicle excise taxes, and they approved all budget articles unchanged.

There were no contested races for elected office.
