WATERVILLE — Inland Hospital announces the following events:

* Cooking Matters for adults with diabetes is set for 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays, April 23-May 28, at Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, 61 Pleasant St.

Inland, Healthy Northern Kennebec and other community partners have come together to offer a hands-on course that teaches adults living with diabetes healthful meal preparation, practical nutrition information and how to get the most nutrition out of a limited budget.

Inland’s Diabetes & Nutrition Wellness team, professional chefs and others volunteer their time and expertise to lead the free classes supported locally by Hannaford, Sodexo and the Good Shepherd Food Bank. Space is limited space. To register, call 861-3332.

* Move More Walking Club is set for 5-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings, April 23-May 16. Participants should meet at North Street Playground picnic tables.

Join Inland and its Move More partners to discover local walking routes and trails in the Waterville/Winslow area.

* Healthy Kids Day is set for 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Alfond Youth Center, 126 North St.

The afternoon will feature active play and opportunities to learn healthier habits. Bring children for a fun afternoon of Family Fun Series Passport or sign up for the Let’s Go. Family Fun Series and register to win a $500 L.L. Bean gift card.
