FARMINGTON — Cody Vigue had a key RBI single and Eric Sucy worked out of a seventh inning jam to lift the Thomas College baseball team to a 3-2 win over the University of Maine at Farmington in the second game of a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader Tuesday at Hippach Field.

Thomas grabbed a 6-1 victory in the opener to earn the sweep.

Thomas led 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh of the second game, before UMF rallied. Brett Wallingford had an RBI single to score Dustic McCrossin, and the Beavers had two runners on trailing just 3-2. However, Sucy struck out Grayson Beressi to end the game.

Vigue had an RBI single in a three-run fifth inning. Sucy struck out four and scattered seven hits to earn the victory. Matt Woodbury added an RBI single for the Beavers.

In the opener, Vigue had a two-run single in a six-run second inning. Fairfield native Isiah Fleming allowed just four hits and struck out seven in the complete game victory.

Maine 9, Colby 8: Mike Connolly tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and Troy Black followed with a game-winning bunt single to lead the Black Bears to their seventh straight win.
Eric White led Maine (22-14) with three hits while Nathan Ellis had four singles and three RBIs for Colby (7-12).

Softball

Bowdoin 5-12, UMF 1-6: In Brunswick, Gen Barlow homered twice and drove in six runs to lead the Polar Bears to the doubleheader sweep over the University of Maine at Farmington. Kaityln Bartlett had the lone hit for the Beavers in the first game and a double and three RBIs in the second. Haley Berry added two hits for UMF (9-11) in the second game. Bowdoin is 20-9.

Husson 3-5, Colby 0-0: Skowhegan graduate Becca McCarty and Amanda Ryan pitched back-to-back three hitters to lead the Eagles to the doubleheader sweep in Waterville.

Lyndsey Merrill belted a two-run homer for Husson (19-8) in the second game. Colby is 8-11.

Boys lacrosse

Lewiston 7, Cony 4: Max Bolduc scored a pair of goals to lead the Blue Devils to the Class A win in Augusta.

Tanner Hubbard, Shawn Gagnier, Griffin Wade, Logan Lecompte and Ty Murphy added single goals for the Lewiston. Bronson Kieltyka scored two goals for the Rams while teammates Nick Benner and Austin Davis scored one each.

Tom Lepage made seven saves for Lewiston (2-0) while Caleb Carr recorded 11 for Cony (0-1).

Messalonskee 22, Oxford Hills 9:
Aidan Caulkins scored four goals while Ryan Erskine, JT Towle and Josh Yanelli added three each to lead the Eagles to the win at Thomas College in their season opener.

James Varney and Connor Leonard scored two goals apiece for the Messalonskee while Ben Weeks, Sawyer Michaud, Dylan Jones, Dylan Burton, Jose Lanquet and Jordan Holmes scored one each.

Jake Smith and Elijah Tull combined for four saves in goal for Messalonskee (1-0) while Tim Hutchinson made 13 for Oxford Hills (0-1).
