RICHMOND — Eddie Stewart struck out 10 and allowed just three hits to lead the Richmond baseball team past Vinalhaven 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday morning.
The Bobcats (2-0) completed the sweep in the second gam, scoring six runs in the second inning en route to a 12-2 victory. Stewart had a double, single and two RBIs in the second game.
In the opener, Stewart had a pair of hits and three RBIs to lead the Bobcats, who broke open a close game with five runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth.
Mike Stewart pitched a complete game in the second game to earn the victory.
Vinahlaven had five hits on the day.
Kents Hill 10, Hebron 7: Winning pitcher Andy Kebalka homered and the Huskies twice rallied from deficits to earn the victory in Kents Hill.
Nolan Wright and Luke O’Brien each had triples for Kents Hill. O’Brien finished with three hits while Winthrop native Mark Dufour had a pair.
Austin Wildes, Ethan Studely and Elijah Morehead homered for Hebron.
Softball
Richmond 12-13, VInalhaven 0-1: Jamie Plummer pitched two strong games, inlcuding a no-hitter, and Kelsie Obi had three RBIs to lead the Bobcats to a doubleheader sweep in Richmond.
Plummer struck out seven in the opener and eight in Game 2. She pitched a no-hitter in the opener and allowed four hits in Game 2.
Obi had a double, single and three RBIs in the second game. Noell Acord had three hits and two RBIs in the opener.
High school boys lacrosse
Oak Hill 12, Mountain Valley 0: Kyle Flaherty had six goals and one assists as the Raiders cruised to a win over the Falcons on Friday.
Jon Averill added four goals and three assists for Oak Hill, while Brian Daniels added a goal and an assists. Mike Saunders also had a goal, while Caleb Provost had two assists. Matty Martin made three saves.
Coyote Freeman had 13 saves and Mason Milligan five for Mountain Valley.
