I applaud Age Right Fitness in Hallowell for sponsoring a Meals on Wheels client in our area.
All gym members were invited to contribute what they could. In no time, we had enough to sponsor someone for a full year. The owners of Age Right Fitness agreed to this fund-raiser with the hope it might inspire other groups in the area to sponsor a Meals on Wheels client.
Many of our seniors live alone and rely on the meals and the visit provided by this program. Sponsoring someone costs only a few dollars a week.
The wonderful people at the Cohen Center in Hallowell, the Somerset Center in Skowhegan and the Muskie Center in Waterville have made these sponsorships easy for interested groups to do.
