In his new budget request, President Barack Obama wants to raise the federal tax on cigarettes from $1.01 per pack to $1.95. The state of Maine already charges $2 state tax per pack.
Obama continues to say he cares about the poor in America, but I think this would be his second increase on cigarettes since he took office.
I, for one, am sick and tired of Democrats getting into my wallet to pay for their pet social welfare programs.
It is time many Americans get shut off from the freebies the Democrats love to give out.
America deserves just what it gets by electing Democrats. The bad part is the rest of us have to pay for it!
