WATERVILLE — Eight Thomas College players drove in a run in Game 2 of a doubleheader, leading the Terriers to an 8-2 win and a sweep of Colby-Sawyer in North Atlantic Conference baseball action Sunday.

Skowhegan’s Cody Vigue hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth inning for Thomas (15-23, 13-11). Tim Locke of Waterville picked up his fourth win of the season for the Terriers, allowing six hits and two earned runs with one strikeout in six innings.

Thomas won Game 1, 2-1. Belgrade’s Eric Soucy was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to plate the winning run. Colby Averill had three hits for Thomas. Jake Chamblee threw a complete game for the win, allowing six hits with four strikeouts.

Thomas will be the fourth seed in the NAC tournament. Colby-Sawyer is now 19-17, 14-11 in NAC play.

Hartford 1, Maine 0: James Alfonso homered with one out in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Hawks to the America East win in Orono.

Mike Connolly took the tough loss for Maine (25-17, 14-6), striking out five and allowing three hits. Sean Newcomb pitched a complete game for Hartford (14-27, 11-10), giving up three hits.

UMF 8-8, Lyndon State 0-9: Zach Keene and Dale Wichenbach each had three hits in Game 1 of a doubleheader, as UMF split a pair of NAC games in Lyndon Center, Vt.

Wichenbach pitched six inningsfor the win.

In Game 2, Ian Sackett’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored the game-winning run for Lyndon (4-30, 4-20). The Hornets trailed 8-5 going into the seventh inning.

Lawrence grad Matt Woodbury had four hits in Game 2 for UMF (9-20, 8-16), including three doubles.

Plymouth State 6-4, Colby 2-2: Jeff Runnals pitched a complete game in the opener and Tucker Regan pitched five innings for the victory in the nightcap to help Plymouth State take two non-conference wins over Colby at Coombs Field.

Runnals struck out four, walked none and allowed seven hits in the first game. The Panthers (19-18) scored three runs in the first inning of the opener. Jason Buco hit an RBI triple in Game 1 for Colby (9-20).

In Game 2, Dave Hall went 3 for 3 for Plymouth State.

Women’s lacrosse

Castleton 21, Thomas 12: An 11-0 run by Castleton in the second half gave the Spartans the win in the NAC championship game in Castleton, Vt.

Trailing 6-4 late in the first half, Castleton scored three straight goals to take the lead. The Spartans led 9-8 at the half.

Brittany Premo scored four goals for Thomas, which ends the season with an 11-5 record.

Boston University 7, Maine 1: The Terriers scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead for good in America East play.

Megan Volpano hit a two-run double for BU (19-23, 7-6) in the fourth inning and added a solo home run in the sixth.

Jean Stevens drove in the lone Maine (7-37, 3-12) run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first.

Also on Sunday: Waterville’s JT Whitten hit an RBI single for Husson in a 4-0 win over New England College. Whitten drove in two runs in Game 2 of the doubleheader, a 10-2 Husson win. Oakland’s Dylan Foster homered for the Eagles in Game 1… Erskine grad Nick Grady went 4 for 4 with two RBIs for USM in a 15-2 win over Western Connecticut. Messalonskee grad Sam Dexter had three hits and scored two runs for the Huskies in a 10-0 win over Western Conn.
