WATERVILLE — As part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, Inland Hospital and Lakewood Continuing Care recently celebrated their volunteers by serving them brunch and delivering accolades for their service to Inland and Lakewood.
In 2012, volunteers contributed almost 16,000 hours to the hospital and continuing care center on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville.
Inland President/CEO John Dalton congratulated and thanked each volunteer for their contribution and expressed the importance of their service to the community. He announced the selection of Inland’s Volunteers of the Year, Jim Mathieu, of Winslow, and Roger Smith, of Fairfield. They both volunteer in the day surgery unit at Inland. They were awarded, along with other community volunteers, on April 28 at the Waterville Opera House at the annual REM Community Volunteer Celebration.
For more information, or to volunteer at Inland or Lakewood, please contact Caroline Crowell, Inland director of Volunteer Services, 861-3325.
