WINTHROP — A Winthrop man was injured Wednesday when he crashed his car on U.S. Route 202.

Stephen Huff, 66, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta cuts and scrapes, said Winthrop Police Capt. Ryan Frost. Huff may also have suffered from an underlying medical condition that caused the crash, Frost said.

Huff was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry east on U.S. 202 around 9 a.m., when the car went off the right side of the roadway and crashed into several trees, Frost said.

Huff was wearing a seat belt, Frost said.

The damaged Camry had to be towed.
