Hammond Lumber Co. of Belgrade was honored last week for workplace safety, according to a news release from the Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Co.
The award is for Hammond’s consistent approach to worker safety, which starts with senior management and is carried out by all of the company’s employees, according to the insurance company.
Hammond employs more than 400 people in 12 locations across Maine and is insured with MEMIC through Cross Insurance.
