As we wind down another great school year in Gardiner, I am writing to share how thankful I am to have Pat Hopkins as our superintendent here in SAD 11.

Hopkins embodies the best of public education. She is conscientious, informed, articulate, caring, involved and incredibly hands-on. I have attended many elementary, middle and high school special events, and she has been at all of them.

Hopkins has brought so many exciting new concepts, ideas and collaborations to enrich the educational experiences of our students, schools and community. She possesses a deep understanding of current educational best practices and philosophies, and makes implementation of these concepts accessible and practical.

Hopkins has been instrumental in getting student representatives onto the school board. She is a staunch advocate for parent engagement. Any time I have had a question or wanted to explore options for a district-wide collaboration, Hopkins has been willing to take time with me, and has been warm and welcoming.

Although she is not a resident of the district, she is active in several local charities and organizations. MSAD 11 is fortunate to be in such capable hands, and I wanted to acknowledge what a passionate advocate for students and public education we have in Hopkins.
