WATERVILLE — Children and their grownups can sing, dance and laugh the morning of Saturday, Aug. 3, when singer-songwriter Judy Pancoast presents a special program of music for the library’s Summer Reading Program participants. The free all-ages family concert begins at 10:30 a.m. in the children’s department of Waterville Public Library.

Pancoast was nominated in 2011 for a Grammy for Best Children’s Album for her “Weird Things are Everywhere! A Reading Road Trip with Judy Pancoast” CD. She was born and raised in Waterville, but her music has taken her to 49 states and several foreign countries. She performed twice in concert at the request of President Bill Clinton.

Pancoast’s library concert, will put the focus on gardening with songs such as “Bug Huntin’,” “Ladybug, Ladybug” and her new song, “I’m a Slug.”

Following her performance, Pancoast will give each child an autographed photo in a meet and greet session. Families will also have the opportunity to buy her CDs. For information, visit www.judypancoast.com.
