There are many people to thank for the success of Old Hallowell Day. Literally hundreds of people came together to plan a day that celebrates our city.
Members of the Old Hallowell Day Committee did everything, including planning, fundraising, recruiting volunteers and choreographing the parade — these folks do it all.
I also want to express my appreciation to the local businesses and their staff who contributed to the day’s events.
Teams from Hallowell Public Works and the Hallowell Police Department were out in force all day long and into the night. The city was cleaned up before many reached for their first cup of coffee on Sunday morning.
Finally, all who participated in the events of the day create its success. Whether they came downtown to see the parade, which seems to grow more robust each year, grabbed some delicious food and drink, or watched the fireworks, their participation was appreciated.
