NORRIDGEWOCK — Police are investigating a one-car accident on Father Rasle Road that sent three people to the hospital Monday night.

A nursing supervisor at Redington-Fariview General Hospital said today that Chad Leeman, the car’s driver, and Kaylene Robbins, a passenger, had been treated and released.

A 17-year-old passenger in the vehicle also was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, said Dale Lancaster, deputy chief of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

He said the car was traveling south about 9 p.m. Monday when Leeman, 21, of Norridgewock, took a turn too fast and lost control of the car, causing it to roll over. The car, a green 2003 Saturn four-door, may have gotten caught on railroad tracks, which run parallel to the road, and came to rest partly on the tracks, said Lancaster.

He said police had to call the railroad to make sure no trains would be coming through while crews worked to clean up the accident.

Leeman was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan by ambulance along with 20-year-old Robbins, of Anson, and the 17-year-old female passenger from Embden, Lancaster said.

Lancaster said he did not know whether the three were wearing seat belts.
