A Carthage man was arrested this week on charges of stealing video games, DVDs, surveillance cameras and a firearm in a July 30 burglary.

Evan Hutchinson, 18, was arrested Tuesday by Maine State Police after several weeks of investigation of a Carthage home burglary, Lt. Aaron Hayden of the Maine State Police said Wednesday.

Hayden said police got a tip on Sunday that Hutchinson was possibly involved in the burglary.

On Tuesday, police interviewed Hutchinson, after which he was arrested.

Almost all of the stolen property was recovered, Hayden said, though he did not have an estimate of its value.

Hutchinson is charged with burglary, a class B offense; theft by unauthorized taking, class B; and criminal mischief, class D.

His bail was set at $500. As of Wednesday afternoon, he had not posted bail.
