AUGUSTA — Due to construction, drivers entering Interstate 95 to go south at exit 113 will now be detoured off Route 3 to Old Belgrade Road.
The temporary traffic pattern will be in place through Aug. 30.
Traffic will be rerouted from the intersection of Route 3 and West River Road to Old Belgrade Road and through the newly built west roundabout onto the Exit 113 southbound entrance ramp.
The detour will allow crews to realign the southbound ramp with the southern half of the east roundabout.
Exit 113 northbound traffic will not be affected by this detour, which is part of a $13 million improvement of the interchange.
The project, expected to be completed in November, will link Route 3 directly with Civic Center Drive, passing the new regional hospital, the Alfond Center for Health and the Alfond Center for Cancer Care on Old Belgrade Road.
