I am writing about two stories in the Aug. 8 edition of the Morning Sentinel.

Apparently someone will only serve 15 years for taking a life (“‘This man murdered my friend'”) but someone else will get 20-plus years for taking jewelry (“‘Rock Burglar’ gets 20 years in prison”)?

The “rock burglar” in Phoenix was sentenced to 22 years and nine months, but the person responsible for taking a 26-year-old man’s life received 25 years and only has to serve 15 of that?

I could not believe what I was reading. It is one more perfect example of how distorted the justice system is in this country.
