POLAND — Maine authorities are looking for two suspects in a reported home invasion and burglary in Poland.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department says the 71-year-old home owner woke up after two men broke into his home early Friday morning.

Authorities say Ronald St. Pierre ordered the men to leave and had a handgun close by. The sheriff’s department says the two men overpowered St. Pierre and the gun was fired during the altercation. No one was shot.

The sheriff’s department says the two men took the loaded gun, clothing, drugs and other items and fled.

Both men were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts, one green and the other possibly dark blue or black.

Authorities said the gun that was stolen is a silver 44 Magnum revolver with a long barrel on it.
