SOUTH CHINA — Drew Graves had two goals and an assist as Nokomis coach Katie Thompson won her 100th career game in the Warriors 4-0 victory over Erskine in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.

Mikayla Charters and Kayla Braley also scored for Nokomis (1-0-0). Lindsay Whitney chipped in with two assists. Kendra Underhill made one save for the shutout, and Alexis Soucy had four saves for Erskine (0-1-0).

Thompson is in her 11th year of coaching, all with Nokomis.

“It’s obviously a great thing for me, but I feel like it’s a reflection of all the players and their commitment to Nokomis Warrior field hockey,” Thompson said. “I’ve been able to coach some really great players. I think the wins are because of their drive and determination. I think it’s a testament to them, really.”

Messalonskee 7, Bangor 0: Kassi Michaud, Nathalie St. Pierre, and Brooke Quirion each scored a pair of goals as the Eagles rolled to an opening-day victory over the Rams.

Emily Hogan also scored for Messalonskee (1-0-0). Sydney Gagne and Mikayla Turner each had two assists. Abby Roberts made two saves.

Cat Stewart finished with 31 saves for Bangor (0-1-0).

Skowhegan 14, Hampden 0: Brooke Michonski and Renee Wright each had four goals as the Indians defeated the Broncos in Skowhegan.

Zoey Gleason and Rylie Blanchet each added two goals and an assist for Skowhegan (1-0-0). Cassidy Clement and Logan LeBlanc had a goal apiece. Allison Lancaster and Mikayla Toth each dished out two assists, and Haley Thebarge had one assist. Goalie Leah Kruse did not need to make a save as the Indians had a 53-0 advantage in shots.

Winslow 4, Belfast 0: Brooke Haskell scored a pair of goals as the Black Raiders beat the Lions in Belfast.

The game was scoreless until Jess Greeley scored with an assist from Ciera Poulin with less than two minutes left in the first half. Haskell then scored twice in the second half and Bethany Winkin added a goal. Miranda Gagne had an assist for Winslow (1-0-0) and Delaney Wood made 12 saves for the shutout.

Morgan Fernald had 18 saves for Belfast (0-1-0).

MCI 3, Lincoln 1: Haley Tibbetts scored a goal and added an asisst to lead the Huskies to the KVAC Class B win in Newcastle.

Katie George and Paige Larochelle also scored for MCI while Abby Farrin scored for the Eagles.

The Huskies (1-0-0) held a 20-3 advantage in shot on goal with their goalies, Courtney Sprague and Mikayla Carr, each recording one save. Andrea Call made 17 saves for Lincoln Academy (0-1-0).

College soccer

Thomas 3, St. Joseph’s 2: Senior back Paul Rechichi scored with 6:08 remaining to lift the Terriers to the non-conference win in Standish. Rechichi scored off Zeon Robinson’s free-kick assist with a header into the right corner. Sophomore Tre Miong and freshman Ali Pak scored for Thomas (2-1-0) while freshman Yanni Rakis scored both goals for St. Joe’s (0-2-1).

The Terriers held a 20-13 advantage in shots with their goalie, Mikkail Crockwell, making six saves. Robert Petrosillo made seven for the Monks.
