FARMINGDALE — Konnor Longfellow scored on a free kick with 15 minutes, 31 seconds left to play to lead the Hall-Dale boys soccer team to a 2-1 victory against Mt. Abram in the Mountain Valley Conference season opener for both teams Saturday.

Longfellow scored Hall-Dale’s first goal with an assist from Tyler Dubois.

Colin Edwards scored for Mt. Abram to tie the game.

Hall-Dale (1-0-0) held a 22-15 advantage in shots with Brian Allen making 12 saves. Tristan Dyer made 15 stops for Mt. Abram (0-1-0).

Richmond 4, Vinalhaven 3: Four different players scored to lead the Bobcats past the Vikings in Class D action in Richmond.

Marcus Blake, Cameron Emmons, Brendan Emmons and Tyler Soucy scored for the Bobcats while Zeb Campbell, Aiden Emerson and Dalton Nornby scored for Vinalhaven. The game was tied at 2 at halftime but Richmond built a two-goal lead in the second half, the first on a nice cross from Nate Tribbet to Brendan Emmons. Nate and Cody Tribbet had two assist each for Richmond.

Dustin Sullivan made six saves fro Richmond (2-0-0) while Ethan Mao had 26 for Vinalhaven (0-1-0).

Monmouth 3, Mtn. Valley 0: Josh Reny scored a pair of goals to lead the Mustangs to a season-opening win in Mountain Valley Conference action in Rumford.

Noah Bates scored a goal while Hunter Richardson and Joe Menice contributed assists. Kasey Smith made seven saves in goal for Monmouth (1-0-0) while Dakota jacques had 17 stops for Mountain Valley (0-1-0).

Telstar 4, Oak Hill 1: NIck Conrad scored a pair of goals as the Rebels beat the Raiders in an MVC game in Wales.

Eric Lowell and Haken Chartier also scored for Telstar. Andy Klaft had the lone goal for Oak Hill.

Kyle Field had 14 saves for the Raiders, while Bronson Dean had 11 saves for the Rebels.

St. Dom’s 2, Winthrop 0: S.J. Park scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the Saints to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Winthrop.

Cameron Steward and Chase Hainey drew assists.

Ben Sawyer made three saves for St. Dom’s (1-0-0) while Matt Skerak had 21 for Winthrop (0-1-1).

Girls soccer

Richmond 8, Vinalhaven 0: Amber Loon scored three goals to lead the Bobcats to a Western Class D win over the Vikings in Richmond.

Meranda Martin and Kelsea Anair added two goals each for the Bobcats (2-0), while Autum Acord added a goal.

Kelsie Obi and Bailey Bonnarigo combined for five saves for Richmond.

Vinalhaven falls to 0-1 on the season.

Field hockey

Messalonskee 10, Mt. Ararat 0: Brook Quirion and Erin Field had three goals each while Emily Hogan each had two as Messalonskee cruised to a win Friday.

Nathalie St. Pierre and Ally Corbett also scored for Messalonskee. Corbett had three assists, while St. Pierre had two and Hogan had two.

Nellie Hetherington had 29 saves for Mt. Ararat.
