WATERVILLE — A West Gardiner woman was summoned after police say she drove her car at a man and then assaulted him in a parking lot on Kennedy Memorial Drive Wednesday morning.

Christine Sounier, 25, of West Gardiner, allegedly drove her car at Patrick Daniels, 30, while he was walking on Washington Street from McDonald’s to the parking lot of Super Shoes, said Detective Sgt. William Bonney of the Waterville Police Department.

“You can see she came at him a couple of times,” Bonney said, pointing to tire marks in the parking lot.

Police summoned her on a disorderly conduct charge.

The two people have an ongoing conflict, according to Bonney. Sounier and Daniels told police that they had been sending each other harassing text messages for the past few days.

Bonney said police declined to file an assault charge after Daniels told police he did not want to make a formal complaint against Sounier.

Along with Bonney, two Waterville police officers and two Oakland police officers responded to the incident.
