MONMOUTH — The 25th annual AppleFest will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Monmouth Museum.

There will be an apple cart with apples for sale by the pound; red balloons; barrel car rides; cider pressing and sipping; displays; horse-drawn wagon rides, free for children; and a pie-eating contest.

The winner of the apple bread bake-off contest will be announced at 11 a.m. The entry fee costs $2 and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Lunch and snacks will be for sale including whoopie pies, soup and apple pie slices with cheese or ice cream at the Apple Pie Cafe. Locally handcrafted items and a quilt will be raffled.

Most activities are free. All proceeds benefit the museum. Activities will take place rain or shine. For more information about the bake off contest, call Carla Quinlivan at 446-2601.
