AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage and first lady Ann LePage will host the annual Blaine House Food Drive for three Saturdays in October to supply food pantries and homeless shelters across the state.

The food drives will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 12, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26. Members of the public can bring a food donation and go on a tour of the Blaine House led by Gov. LePage.

Paul and Ann LePage have collected thousands of pounds of food since they started the food drive three years ago, according to a news release from the governor’s office.

“As our holiday season approaches, it is very important that we remember those who are less fortunate and are trying to get on their feet,” Gov. LePage said in the release. “The first lady and I recognize how meaningful these food donations can be to those individuals in trying circumstances. Mainers are generous people, and it is heartwarming to see so many who are willing to help their neighbors in need.”

All donations collected will be given to the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn to distribute.
