On many occasions in the past, the United Bikers Toy Run has been stopped and held for emergency situations.

I would like to ask Richard Alfieri (letter, Sept. 16) how many poor and needy children he donates to so they can have any Christmas at all. Does 30 minutes of his time seem worth the happiness of hundreds of children?

For his information, I am not a “biker,” but I am a member of United Bikers of Maine. I am a 78-year-old widow who cares more for children than grumpy old men.
