A Dresden man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to rob the Walgreens pharmacy in Bath last June.
Nicholas A. Alexander, 23, entered the plea Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

His codefendant and wife, Devin Michelle Alexander, also 23, pleaded guilty to the same charge on July 17. She signed an agreement waiving her right to appeal any sentence she received of 41 months or less.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 8 in Portland.

According to documents filed with the court, Devin Alexander went into the pharmacy June 14 to scout the location, then called Nicholas Alexander on a cellphone to say it was a good time to commit the robbery.

Nicholas Alexander entered the store and “handed the pharmacist a note that stated, ‘You have 20 seconds to give me all you oxycodone 15 mg tablets an 30s or I will blow your (expletive) brains out.’”
Investigators identified Devin Alexander as the person who wrote the note.

Nicholas Alexander left with 11 bottles of oxycodone tablets, and the two were seen fleeing in a sport utility vehicle.

Police found him about 12 hours later at a Wiscasset motel. He told them he committed the robbery and was addicted to the medication, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig M. Wolff.

“Investigators subsequently found almost 600 Oxycodone pills between the mattress and the box spring in the motel room,” Wolff wrote in the court document.

Nicholas Alexander is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10, 2014, in federal court in Portland.
