SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan Savings recently announced it awarded a $5,000 gift to the town of Madison for the development of a new park and playground, according to a Skowhegan Saving press release.

“This playground and park will become a centerpiece of our town for years to come,” said Jack Ducharme, branch manager of Skowhegan Savings’ Madison branch, in the release. “Madison is a town of friendly, hard-working families, and we’re proud to support the creation of a place where they can come together all year round.”

The park will include a grassy area for farmers markets, tag sales and concerts. Plans call for the park and playground to be completed this fall, including a skating rink for the winter.
