WINTHROP — Jess Ames scored a pair of goals as the Winthrop field hockey team earned its eighth win of the season, beating Telstar 2-1 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Friday.

Ames scored with five minutes left in the first half with an assist from Rachel Ingram to give Winthrop (8-1-0 a 1-0 lead. Telstar (4-5-0) tied it on a goal by Anne Cushman with 18 minutes left in the game.
Ames scored with 15 minutes left in regulation to give the Ramblers the win.

Alyssa Arsenault had nine saves for Winthrop, while Hali Barter stopped five shots for Telstar.

Hall-Dale 2, Oak Hill 2, OT: Haley Marshall scored with about five minutes left as the Raiders and Bulldogs played to an MVC tie in Farmingdale.

Shanay Gilbert scored an unassisted goal with 14:50 left in the second half to give Hall-Dale (3-5-1) a 1-0 lead. Erica Hannigan tied it with an assist from Marshall 12 seconds later for Oak Hill (5-3-1).

Gilbert gave Hall-Dale the lead back with 11 minutes left, before Marshall tied it with an assist from Kaelyn Beliveau.

Molly French had 16 saves for Hall-Dale, while Abigail Fuller had two for Oak Hill.

Boys soccer

Messalonskee 4, Skowhegan 0:  Dylan Burton and Dylan Jones each had a goal and an assist as the Eagles beat the Indians in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Oakland.

Soren Donisvitch and Eric VanDerKarr also scored for Messalonskee (3-3-1). Ethan Harris added a pair of assists for the Eagles and Jake Smith stopped six shots.

Anthony Paul had 13 saves for Skowhegan (0-6-0).

Girls soccer

Hall-Dale 2, St. Dominic 2, 2OT: Maura Stottler scored two first half goals and the Bulldogs earned a tie with the Saints in Farmingdale.

Stottler scored on an unassisted goal and a penalty kick as Hall-Dale (5-1-1) rallied from a 2-0 deficit. Kaylyn Linck and Faith Grady scored in the first 20 minutes to give St. Dominic (5-1-1) a 2-0 lead.

Kelley Pomerleau had 15 saves for St. Dominic, while Olivia Maynard had six saves for Hall-Dale.

Carrabec 3, Winthrop 0: Brooklynne Lewis had a goal and an assist to lead the Cobras to an MVC win over the Ramblers in North Anson.

Paige Chadbourne and Kaitlin Lacroix each added goals for Carrabec (2-4-1). Cobras goalkeeper Macy Welch made three saves.

Winthrop drops to 0-6-1.

Madison 5, Oak Hill 1: Kirsten Wood had two goals and two assists as the Bulldogs earned their sixth win of the season, beating the Raiders in a MVC game in Madison.

Kayla Bess added two goals and Whitney Lloyd had one for Madison (6-0-1). Cristie Vicneire had two assists and Brooklyn Moore had one. Savanna Kandiko made six saves.

Bree Ivy scored for Oak Hill (3-4-1), while Kelsey Collins had 18 saves.

Cony 2, Lewiston 1: Hayley Quirion scored two goals as the Rams rallied to beat the Blue Devils in a KVAC A game Thursday in Lewiston.

Lewiston (0-6-1) took a 1-0 lead when Maeghan Mathon scored an unassisted goal about 20 minutes into the game.

Quirion scored midway through the second half to tie it, then won it for the Rams (5-1-0) with about nine minutes left. Olivia Deeves and Bayleigh Logan each had an assist.
Kelsey St. Cyr had 12 saves for the Rams, while Autumn Sudsbury had eight saves for Lewiston.
