WINTHROP — Police stopped traffic on Stanley Road Sunday morning to ask passers-by if they have seen Thomas Devoy, who’s been missing for a week.
Detective Peter Struck of the Winthrop Police Department said authorities stopped traffic from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, but got no leads in Devoy’s disappearance.

Devoy, 60, of 333 Stanley Road, likely left his home at that time of morning on Sunday, Oct. 6. Struck said the roadblock was set up to see if regular travelers of the road saw Devoy that morning.
“There’s nothing leading any way to him, which is very bizarre,” Struck said. “There’s really no signs of anything.”
Winthrop police and fire officials, along with wardens from the Maine Warden Service, searched the woods behind Devoy’s home last week.
Devoy, who is 5-foot-4 and weight 110 pounds, is thought to have left home wearing brown sweatpants, a black North Face pullover and slippers.
He left behind his cellphone and wallet.
In last week’s news release, Winthrop police said Devoy had “no indication of destination or any intent.”
Police ask anyone who has seen or contacted Devoy to call 911 or 377-7226.
