OAKLAND — A Belgrade woman was treated for minor injuries after she failed to stop at a stop sign and her SUV struck a truck in an accident that destroyed both vehicles.

The SUV driven by Gail Drouin, 60, struck a truck driven by Paul Mushero, 75, according to Oakland police Officer Gary Bowman.

Bowman said Drouin, traveling on Rice Rips Road, drove into the intersection of Route 23, also known as Fairfield Street.

The front end of Drouin’s Subaru Forester was smashed, and pieces of it littered the intersection.

Mushero was driving a company truck for Paul Mushero and Son’s Jacking and Moving, which Bowman said also was destroyed and needed to be towed from the scene. Mushero wasn’t injured, Bowman said.

Bowman said Drouin was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries but did not appear to be seriously hurt. He said she complained of head pain and appeared to be bruised by the seat belt.

Bowman said no charges are being filed in the accident.
