GARDINER — Senior Ally Day had 14 points and eight rebounds, while freshman Lauren Chadwick scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds as Gardiner defeated Medomak Valley 62-24 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B girls basketball game Thursday.

Morgan Carver added 11 points for Gardiner (2-0).

Hannah Marks had seven points for Medomak Valley (1-2).

Monmouth 49, Winthrop 26: Kylie Kemp scored a game-high 12 points to lead the host Mustangs to the MVC win.

Mikayla Cameron and Paxton Lessard added nine points each for Monmouth (2-1).

Randi Dennett led Winthrop (0-2) with 11 points.

MORSE 46, ERSKINE 42: Emma Harrington scored 21 points to lead the Shipbuilders to the KVAC B win in Bath.

Morse improves to 1-2.

Erskine (1-2) was led by Mallory Chamberlain with 18 points.

Boys Basketball

Medomak 63, Gardiner 62 OT: Nick DePatsy scored 19 points to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waldoboro.

Micah Williamson added 16 points for Medomak (3-0).

Seth McFarland led Gardiner (1-1) with 18 points while Alex LaPointe chipped in with 16.

Morse 41, Erskine 26: Ethan Winglass had 17 points as the Shipbuilders beat the Eagles in a KVAC B game in South China.

Chris Paulus added nine points for Morse (3-0), which pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Erskine (0-3) 12-2.

Matt Clary and Jared Gartley each had 10 points for Erskine.

Women’s basketball

UM-AUGUSTA 81, NEW HAMPSHIRE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE: Jenn Lola scored 31 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead the Moose to the Yankee Small College Conference victory.

Jamie Plummer added 21 points for UMA while Courtney Jicks scored 15.

Danielle Kimball had 21 points, while Jessica Wagner and Allura LeBlanc each had 13 for NHTI.
