Maine State Police Sgt. Bruce Scott salutes as Trooper Elisha Fowlie lays a wreath Tuesday on the headstone of Trooper Michael Veilleux at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manchester. During a memorial service Tuesday, wreaths were placed on the headstones of 11 state police troopers who died in the line of duty. Organizers hope that the service will be an annual tradition, State Police Lt. Scott Ireland said. Retired troopers and friends of Veilleux remembered the 24-year-old who was killed in a car accident in Dayton in 1986.
